Well my mess is that I despise marketing myself. It doesn’t feel natural. It doesn’t feel easy. I feel my work should speak for itself and yet, that’s not how the world works! As my friend and fellow public speaking coach says:
“All too often I meet talented professionals who work harder than everyone else; they are technically brilliant at their job, yet they are not visibly brilliant. They hide in the background, happy to stay behind the scenes. The problem is – if you are invisible… how can people hire you, recommend you, reward you or promote you if they don’t know you exist? Put yourself out there!“
